Marguerite was born and raised in Tahiti and has always been passionate about the marine environment. This is why she decided to study marine science at university, after which she obtained a Master’s degree in fisheries biology and management. During her MSc research project, under Dr T. Bambridge supervision, she realised how important but complex small-scale fisheries are in French Polynesia. At this point, Marguerite’s only motivation becomes to participate to the better understanding and management of the reef fisheries of her country.
Within the Rāhui Center, Marguerite participates in the collection and analysis of ecological (benthic population) and fisheries data (creel survey, gonad sampling, etc.). She is also involved in the coordination of the logistics for the Rāhui Center actions.
