Oriane Girard is the Coordination and Development Officer at the Rāhui Center. She also supports the development of partnerships and coordinates initiatives aimed at strengthening local communities’ capacities in the implementation of rāhui.
Trained as an agricultural engineer and specialised in tropical ecosystem management, she develops projects at the intersection of research, local communities, and marine conservation. Her work focuses on knowledge related to ocean currents, seascapes, and seamounts, as well as on the ways these spaces are perceived, named, and integrated into traditional and contemporary governance systems.
